Spine Ring
Custom Jewelry
I was tasked with designing a ring for a client who loves silver jewelry of organic forms. The design is an articulating piece consisting of two rings connected by interlocking spines. This piece was investment cast using casting services from Shapeways.

Appearance and Comfort
The ring was designed to fit my client’s aesthetics while being comfortable. I took multiple measurements from the base to the tip of my friend’s finger. Using finger length and diameter measurements, I modeled two rings with different sizes to fit the base of the finger and the middle phalanx.
The underside of the interlocking spines are flat to reduce discomfort when in contact with the skin.
